Biking the Thames East

Fixing a flat
Picking up the bicycles at Gabriels' Wharf
We picked up the bicycles today! Before we biked a mile I got a flat. Jay changed the tube and we were off again.

Borough Market

My guide booked mapped a route along the Thames. From the bike shop, we headed toward the Tower Bridge where the route started. On the way, we stopped by Borough Market. I wish we were hungry, because there was some amazing food vendors.

a tunnel on our route
Pedaling on, we picked up the bike route. It took us along the river, the Docklands Heritage Trail and through the wharf districts, neighborhoods and villages. The path ranged from relaxing path along the river to scary busy roundabout, from brick lanes to tunnels.

View from the Angel
We stopped at a couple of pubs for pints. The Angel was particularly good with its upstairs seating, river view, and Sam Smith on tap. I had the bitter and Jay had the stout.

Tower Bridge
Of course, we saw some of the typical tourist sites. The London Bridge and the Tower of London. Tomorrows ride - Buckingham Palace.
